The Queensland Development Code MP4.1 – Sustainable Buildings, Amended Effective 01 March 2021

The Queensland Development Code MP4.1 – Sustainable Buildings has been amended effective 01 March 2021

What are the changes

Introduction of heating and cooling caps for NatHERS assessments

Houses that are modelled in NatHERS software will now need to meet prescribed heating and cooling load limits as well as the minimum star rating requirement.

Verification (VURB) assessments need to be in accordance with the current 2019 NCC (previously 2010 NCC)

NatHERS software can no longer be used to complete VURB assessments and the reference building requirements have been tightened making it extremely difficult to comply with this method of assessment.

You can find the Queensland Development Code here.

Lodging Applications before the changes effect

Applications lodged prior to 1st March 2021 will be assessed under the current requirements.
